Dear Friends and Family,

We are excited to announce that Mariposa Soccer is heading into year three of our soccer programming! We’ve had another exciting year for year-round soccer in Mariposa County - with recreation and competitive youth soccer in the fall, adult soccer in the winter, and competitive youth soccer in the spring. In 2023, we had over 450 youth playing soccer in our youth programming and over 200 adults in our Adult League! Our fantastic group of parents and soccer-lovers have continued to support our non-profit organization, Mariposa Soccer League, and are fully committed to creating a place for kids and adults alike to play the great game of soccer in Mariposa! 

As we head into our 2024 programming, we look forward to your ongoing support, as we have several goals this year: 

• Provide $3,500 in scholarships for players to ensure all who want to play, can play! Last year, due to your generous support we were able to provide over $3,200 in scholarships to players - ensuring every player can play! 

• This spring, we purchased high quality, weather durable aluminum soccer goals to be placed at Woodland Park and Catheys Valley Park. These goals will be able to be used for Mariposa Soccer programming and the Mariposa Community at large. This summer, we’d like to be able to purchase a set of 24’ goals to be used at the high school, as well, as we are unable to use the goals at the school. 

• Replace some equipment due to normal wear and tear and purchase additional needed equipment (higher quality practice goals, balls, field lining equipment, & first aid kits.) 

• Purchase some additional branded easy-ups for our club to use for home and away matches - taking our Mariposa Soccer brand to neighboring communities. 

• Pay our high school referees a decent earning per game. Last year we had 16 trained referees, whom we paid $25/game. Your sponsorships enabled us to keep $5,000 in the community by giving our local MCHS high schoolers a chance to earn some cash, learn a new skill, and fine tune their understanding of the game. This spring, we were able to bring in a US Soccer Federation licensing program for our referees, allowing us to host competitive league matches at home. 

• Offer high school graduating senior(s), who have played soccer in Mariposa County, a scholarship (up to $1,000 total) for pursuing a college degree or trade school. This year, we are honored to select seniors JJ Bolar & Tyler Pike as our first Mariposa Soccer Senior Scholarship recipients! 

• Ensure that all coaches and referees have proper background checks required by US Club Soccer ($26/coach that covers a coach for two years), as well as opportunities for official coach licensing and referee licensing through US Soccer Learning Center. This summer we are bringing in the US Soccer D License training for our coaches - an 8-week commitment for our competitive coaches!
